Weather

The weather this holiday weekend is beautiful, mild pleasant and sunny.

I went to see Renee finally since she has had her hip surgery and she seems to be doing well. Earlier in the day I had my blood drawn for my physical next week and every thing was ok except my blood surgar which wa elevated.

Hi there, the first of the month is here and I still hope to get some things done around the house. Next week however, I have a trip planned for Washington, D.C.  Hope all goes well.

The news

Just reading the headlines makes me believe we are in the last days. I hope things don't get any worse.

History

Hillary Clinton made history last night but accepting the democratic nomination for president.

Conventions

Well the republican convention is over and it went off without a major incident. In fact Cleveland got a lot praise for the way it was handled. I'm glad because I thought that Cleveland didn't have the infrastructure to handle such a major venue.

Weather

It has been hot and steamy over most of the country. Just wish that it would bring some much needed rain

RNC convention

I went downtown yesterday to experience the Republican convention, to see the protests, the news media covering the event. There were tons of police present from all around the country and the crowds were orderly while I was there. Tons of souvenir merchandise was for sale but I can't  see the point in having Trump memorabilia except as a matter of historical reference. 

But on another note , we are blessed with good weather for the convention, warm and sunny and not too hot.

More shootings

I came home today to find a troubling story on the new about another police shooting by an unnamed killer in Baton Rouge . Three officers are dead and three more wounded.

Arts festival

I went to the Cain park arts festival today and saw some incredible art work. Would that I could have bought all that I wanted.

Dallas shooting

My prayers go out to the people of Dallas with 12 officers shot and 5 deaths.

The Fourth of July

I went downtown to see the Cleveland fireworks.

New month

The first of the month, the year is half gone  and I hope to get some things done this summer.

June happenings

So far this month the Orlando shootings have taken center stage . Of  course the conspiracy people 

Are saying that it is a government psyop. It does seem incredible that one person  could wreak so much havoc.

Update

I went to New York for the weekend and it was not the most pleasant of experiences . I came home totally exhausted. I had to spend the day in bed . My exhaustion was mainly due to lack of sleep plus I walked more than I usually do. I did 15000 steps. It will be awhile before I make the trip again.

Prince died yesterday and I was surprised at the amount of attention his death got. I was not a particular fan of his because I am not of that generation, but all over the news , social media, there such a huge outpouring of grief at his passing.

Finally, a stretch of warm and sunny days, however, Houston is getting pounded with heavy rains and flooding.

Spring

After cold and snow (6inches) over the weekend we finally have a mild and sunny day. We have had so many cloudy days and windy days as well. I had to have a minor repair done to my roof.

Party

I went to a birthday party for my uncle yesterday at tgifridays. Was a lot of fun with friends and family.

The first quarter of the year is done, let's focus on the rest of the year, think positive.

Terrorism

How many more attacks can we expect around the world? When it happens in a third world country it is just a footnote on the daily news but when it happens in European country it totally dominates the news. Something finally chased the presidential rallies and caucuses off the stage.

Weather

We are having ups and downs in our winter weather. So far we have and a mild winter with below normal amounts of snow fall. They (weather people) say we have a snow deficit. I don't know exactly what they mean by this since Cleveland sits on Lake Erie. This is one winter when the lake did not ice oover. Last year it was almost completely frozen.

Birthday

It's my birthday today #70, who hoo. Somehow I never thought that I would make it this far. A number of people that I have known through the years have died early.

Sun

The sun finally makes an appearance after more than a month of cloudy days. The sky is a deep clear blue that is seldom seen nowadays.

Supreme Court

The presidential election has just gotten more interesting with the possibility of the next president nominating the next Supreme Court justice. All agree there is no chance of an Obama nomination being ratified by the senate.

Weather

We are having very mild weather today but it won't last, snow is expected tomorrow. I went shopping today and bought a few items for my spring and summer trips.
